In order to be considered for this position, candidates must be a current UM-Flint student and have been awarded WORK STUDY dollars for spring or summer 2014 or both. You must attach a cover letter as the first page of your resume. The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to this position. Candidates must also include class schedule and hours of availability for work.
## Responsibilities
The research assistant will work flexible hours, no more than 6 hours per week, under the direct supervision of the study investigator to:1) use online programs such as Medline to complete queries to capture appropriate research literature; 2) coordinate calendars and schedule meetings for research activities; 3) develop, organize and disseminate marketing, publicity, outreach and related materials in support of approved research activities; 4) transcribe, edit, copy and collate documents in support of faculty research and 5) organize and maintain research files.
## Required Qualifications
The applicant must 1) be a current student at UM-Flint, 2) have technical computing skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail as well as experience with software such as Medline which is used to complete research literature searches, 3) have a stated personal desire to be an integral part of a productive research team, and 4) be dependable and available at least one hour between 8-5 p.m. on Wednesdays for ongoing, time sensitive support activities.
