Position Summary The Financial Wellness Specialist works with the organization to execute banking strategies and objectives to attract, retain and grow relationships with in and out of the Credit Union.
Fulfill clients financial needs, collaborates and develops a presence within the community footprint of the organization amongst schools and other public entities in the ideation of growing the organizations membership, educating the member(s), and spreading awareness of finances.
Essential Functions & Primary Responsibilities Builds and maintains relationships with members of the community Plans, develops, implements, and organizes events and volunteers to advance the mission and goals of the company Coordinates certification for new Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors (CCUFC) and works with training department to deliver presentations to educate CCUFC employees Deliver financial education workshops, and as needed, follow up sessions on relevant topics Prepare new and refine existing written financial education materials as needed Organizes community outreach programs and coordinates special events that will influence public opinion or promote products, services, or ideas of the company with an emphasis on financial education in the community Uses social media to promote educational information Participate in the implementation of financial education program for Credit Union staff development, working with specific Credit Union staff as appropriate Drafts and distributes/publishes various content pieces that promote the company, as well as individuals or groups within the company Develop and deliver Credit Union presentations to a variety of public groups/agencies that serve our market to increase awareness of the Credit Union, our products, and services Selects positive publicity materials and distributes them through a variety of channels Responds to inquiries from community members and other interested parties; when needed, recruits a knowledgeable spokesperson or information source to assist Must present a positive image of the Credit Union and themselves Conduct outreach/network with community organizations, credit union partners, the faith community, employers, city leaders, formal education programs, human service agencies, and other similar organizations and agencies that support the local community Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls, and should request legal interpretation as necessary.
Must ensure subordinates are also compliant with such laws and regulations Perform other duties as assigned Requirements:
Education & Qualifications At least an Associate's Degree in Business or similar related experience 1-2 years of experience working in Marketing and/or Financial Education This position requires an understanding in basic computer skills including m365 suites Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (must be obtained within 6 months of position) Skills and Abilities The ability to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills The ability to stay organized, meet deadlines and stay timely with appointments within the scope of the community and schools Be able to work independently with little direction Presents a positive and professional image to members through effective and courteous verbal and written communications Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
