This is considered an on-call position that's on an as-needed basis.
Typically, this will be an 8 hour shift that could range between the hours of 4am and 8pm.
Notification could be last minute or within 24 hours notice.
Job Duties Ensure driver loads are consistent with equipment capacity, Load Factor and Load Efficiency standards Audit load efficiency and compliance with DOT/MOT regulations Ensure driver assignments are properly documented; ensure compliance with assignment Ensure drop sequence is clear to driver and obtain driver acknowledgement/agreement Update load planners regarding available equipment for future shipments Ability to successfully pass DOT/MOT drug screen and criminal background check in exercising the authority outlined in the preceding bullet, and/or in recommending any of those authorities, a Dispatch Supervisor is expected to exercise his/her independent judgment on behalf of Jack Cooper Collaborate with Human Resources, as appropriate, to facilitate legal compliance, and fairness and consistency of treatment of employees across the organization Requirements High school graduate or equivalent 3 or more years' dispatch experience, including management in a union environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience Strong analytical and mathematical skills Excellent decision-making, communication, and customer service skills Working knowledge of computers and programs to include Microsoft Office Ability to effectively manage time and priorities Solid working knowledge of DOT/MOT/JWC regulations Strong leadership and supervisory skill Job Type:
