Responsibilities:
Review work orders and assign tasks to employees.
Manage departmental budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.
Implement and enforce quality systems, processes, and procedures to improve product quality.
Champion safety programs, maintain an injury-free work environment, and conduct regular safety talks and accident investigations.
Ensure productivity and cost goals are met by communicating job expectations, monitoring performance, and providing feedback to the production staff.
Foster team building and success among the workforce.
Collaborate with sales and fleet organizations to set shop priorities and address issues.
Maintain a high standard of professional knowledge and ethical practices.
Facilitate daily planning meetings to optimize workflow.
Encourage cost savings and operational performance through data collection and process improvement.
Train personnel in proper methods and processes.
Assist employees with questions to reduce delays and ensure efficient operations.
Ensure best practices are consistently followed throughout the shop.
Qualifications:
Proven record of meeting timed job standards and completion targets.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and teamwork aptitude.
Ability to troubleshoot and evaluate options for the best course of action.
Excellent management and people skills.
High commitment to continuous improvement.
Four-year degree or equivalent experience/training preferred.
Five years of manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong skills in using word processing and spreadsheet applications.
