Summary:
The Human Resources Associate provides support to the Human Resources department as assigned.
The Human Resources Associate assists with the process of criminal background checks for Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) and the constituent school districts.
The Human Resources Associate supports for the operational activities of the GISD Davis Center reception area while maintaining the integrity of confidential personnel information.
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
1.
Provides excellent customer service to GISD guests and incoming calls to the main GISD switchboard.
2.
Prepares written correspondence, complex reports and newsletters as requested.
3.
Serves as a member of the Crisis Response Team for drills and maintains process forms, records, and drill information.
4.
Supports MIDAS (Web Based Room Scheduling Software) meeting requests and meetings held at the Davis Center including scheduling, equipment use, invoicing and securing contracts as required.
5.
Assists with annual and special event volunteers for the district including, but not limited to utilizing the Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT) and communicating assignments to programs.
6.
Assists with the fingerprinting and criminal record process including creating and maintaining confidential electronic files for GISD and the constituent school districts in accordance with state regulations.
7.
Serves as Notary Public for GISD.
8.
Completes annual ICHAT and substitute permits for all contracted employees in the district, as assigned.
9.
Consistently models Win-Win leadership.
Education:
Associate's degree required.
Coursework in human resources preferred.
Five or more years of related experience may meet the educational requirement.
Experience:
Minimum one year of experience providing clerical support in a business or educational agency required.
Experience working in a Human Resources department preferred.
Demonstrated effective use of word processing, spreadsheet and database management software required.
Competent in the use of the Internet.
Skills/Other:
Ability to pass proficiency testing at the beginner level in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, business math, spelling and typing (45 wpm) preferred.
Ability to utilize technology and work to maintain proficiency, as skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the company.
Ability to solve problems logically and effectively, to work independently, to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate effective time management skills.
Excellent oral, written, electronic and interpersonal communication skills.
Works successfully as a member of a team.
Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times.
Ability to work flexible workday, work week and work year.
Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
