# Graphic Designer - Student Success Center Marketing Team
## Responsibilities
Will provide opinions and insights into how to better communicate to our audiences and work as a team to get the word out in fun and creative ways. Will be responsible for developing and executing new ideas.
Will work visually and socially to promote the SSC events. There are five main functional areas that you will be working on; academic advising, career services, orientation, tutoring, and student veterans resources.
You will be responsible for creating materials to use on social media sites, electronic displays throughout campus, flyers and posters, four campus bulletin boards, emails, Career Connection and the SSC website to increase awareness, create buzz and provide useful information for students, faculty/staff, alumni and employers.
Events and services including, but not limited to: career fairs, career fair prep week, Making the Most of Your Career Fair, workshops (Careers4Years, Get Ready for Academic Success, Learning Strategies, LinkedIn, Majors & Careers, Optimal Resume), Career Connection, Career Spots, Focus 2, Hot Jobs, Optimal Resume, Study Connection, Study Groups, Tutor Connection and Tutorama.
This person will be a creative thinker, have a go getter attitude with the ability to work autonomously, not sit around waiting to be directed. You will juggle numerous tasks at once. Organization and deadline management skills are a must. You will be asked to follow instructions accurately and efficiently, work independently, be eager and willing to learn, and will not hesitate to ask questions.
## Required Qualifications
Must be a current UM-Flint student; junior or senior
## Desired Qualifications
The University of Michigan-Flint Student Success Center (SSC) is looking for a graphic design student to practice their classroom learning in a real-world environment, and showcase their talents at the University of Michigan-Flint and globally. The Graphic Design and Promotions position hands-on experience at a higher education institution with the goal of exposing the individual to several aspects of graphic design and promotions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
